There will be a full programme of fieldwork on local shores, boat work around the coast of the Isle of Wight and lab work led by experienced marine biologists directly involved in nature conservation. This year there will be a special focus on Eel grass beds (Zostera spp.), but there will be plenty of work in other habitats.

MSc IN INTEGRATED URBAN WATER MANAGEMENT
University of Exeter, School of Engineering,

This programme is new for 2006/2007. It aims to train people in the essentials of urban water supply and sewerage technology, in a context that encourages a wide integrated systems approach to their implementation. The MSc programme is studied full-time over twelve months arranged into two 12-week teaching semesters and a summer project, although a shorter diploma and certificate are also available.

LEAF – LINKING ENVIRONMENT AND FARMING

A Training pack CD-Rom on all aspects of Integrated Farm Management (IFM)

The new pack aims to help advisers, trainers and agricultural lecturers explain IFM to farmers and students. The interactive CD-Rom contains an introductory module on IFM. A further nine modules deal with technical issues relating to agriculture and biodiversity, to improving public understanding and the implications of government policy. Each module is supported by tutor manuals, course notes and PowerPoint presentations.  As part of its development, the pack was extensively tested to ensure it had wide appeal to farming and non-farming audiences.
