INDEX NITRABAR UK - ADAPT WAGRICO SNIFFER Project WFD85 - Expressions of interest for a new proposal: Water Pollution Guide
NITRABAR The project started in December 2005 and was officially launched at the ecos millennium environmental centre, Ballymena in Northern Ireland in May 2006. It will run until March 2009. NITRABAR is a pan-European project. Partners involved come from the UK, Malta, Poland and Belgium. NITRABAR stands for Remediation of Agricultural Diffuse NITRAte Polluted Waters through the Implementation of a Permeable Reactive BARrier. The project has now produced an introductory factsheet and a first issue of a newsletter. These and other information are available on the project’s website: (http://www.nitrabar.eu) UK - ADAPT UK-ADAPT is a resource for researchers and funders to make everyone aware of projects that contribute to our understanding of managing catchments to decrease diffuse pollution from agriculture. Monthly updates on the UK-ADAPT initiative are available on the UK-ADAPT website: WAGRICO This is a collaborative project in the UK (south west England) and Germany (Lower Saxony). The aim is to work with, and support, the local farming community in protecting ground water quality. This project started in October 2005 and will run until September 2008. The project will use catchment advisers who will be the points of contact for farmers and who will be able to offer assistance and advice on the introduction of a range of ‘programme of measures’.
